DO YOU KNOW PADLET?

There is a site called Padlet which is amazing for learners. It mixes two elements of learning: Visual aids and investigation.

Our teacher assigned us to open a padlet page and choose a topic. We had many choices, and we, as a group selected the topic of Poverty.

It was clearly explained what would we do. Firstly, we had to create a What We Know column in which we would list how much we are knowledgeable about Poverty. Secondly, we created Want to Know, as it is understood, we listed which topic we are curious about. Finally, we made an investigation and formed the What We Learned page, and listed all we learned about poverty.

It was a cheerful experience because it led us to read and make an investigation. Also, it is beneficial for group working. That's why I liked it.

I will use Padlet in my teaching life. As I said, it was an experience useful for both individual and group creation.

As it is known, in the 21st century, learning and teaching improved a lot with virtualization. While students used to work in groups in the classroom, they now work on online platforms. In this regard, Padlet site is an amazing site. It allows to work individually and in groups, and students can follow each other's movements simultaneously. Padlet is one of the leading websites in 21st century education in this respect.

We created a padlet with three members. Baran Tuaç, Tuvana Kutar and me. Here is the link

SEE YOU

Hi again. This post is going to be my final one. So, I am sad👴 Before letting me go, I want to talk about my personal experiences through the Educational Technologies class. How did you view technology in English language teaching before you took this course?     Obviously, I am more experienced and knowledgeable about technology now. Generally, I have been using technology for doing my homework, researching, and working mostly. After I have started to take this class, my perspective on technology has changed. Firstly, I learned that there are many useful tools for learners, especially English learners. Secondly, I was able to improve my digital skills which I will use throughout my life. And finally, I improve myself in terms of group working. How this course has contributed to your learning about and understanding of technology integration in ELT?         As I said, the Internet is like a sea in which there are numerous resources for learning and te...

WebQuest and Farewell

Hi, today I've completed our final task which is QuestGarden. I am going to talk about it and say my last words.  Firstly, I want to talk about WebQuest. It is an interactive platform enabling teachers to create process-based materials for students. It includes phases such as Introduction-Task-Process and Evaluation. Our task was to prepare a WebQuest in which students will follow a guideline to learn and study. I worked with Selda Kaya, you can reach her website by clicking here. We firstly decided on a topic which was saving nature. We then brainstormed and reasoned about the process. Briefly, it was challenging at first but with my friend's help and a lot of give-and-take, we were able to do it. You can click the link below and reach my Webquest. CLICK HERE TO SEE MY WEBQUEST PAGE. As I said before, this is my last post and shortly I will talk about it in general.  1- What are the strengths and weaknesses of the course? One of the greatest contributions of this course to me...

Flipped Approach

Hello! Today, I will talk about Flipped Approach. Let's begin by defining a flipped classroom. Students learn at home and practice at school in a flipped classroom. The teacher makes a video for the targeted topic and distributes it to the pupils so that they can learn about it whenever they like! This method allows teachers to save a lot of time in class, allowing them to spend more time at school practicing the material rather than just teaching it. On the other side, this time savings benefit students rather than teachers. For beginners, making a flipped video may be difficult. Let us share our experiences! For the high school prep-class, our topic was "Comparative, Superlative, and Equality." We assumed it would be simpler. Despite some difficulties, it was enjoyable to be a part of this flipped video.  Let's talk about what we created with İrem First, we used Canva to build a presentation paper. Then, using Microsoft Video Editing, we record our voices to inser...
