21ST EFFECTS ON LEARNING

21ST CENTURY'S EFFECTS ON LEARNING LANGUAGE

21st century has both advantages and disadvantages. If you ask me, I could say the pros outweigh cons. Thanks to computerization, we are able to do our fatigue duties by using Internet. The development in technology also created a new perspective to learning.

There is a term called “21st learning”. It appeared with the breakthrough of technology. This term refers to“distance education, using online platform, and virtual classes.” In addition to this, students have formed new habits. Actually they were forced to form. Teachers have started to use technology and given homeworks such as presentation, online platform based preparations and so on.

21st learning also brought a new view on learning language. There isn’t any problem about sources no longer. Students aren’t supposed to examine encyclopedias and dictionaries for a long time. They can reach everything in a one second. New methods appeared such as learning language through movies, apps and programs.

That is to say, 21st has facilitated the learning and teaching process for physical, social and language sciences

SEE YOU

Hi again. This post is going to be my final one. So, I am sad👴 Before letting me go, I want to talk about my personal experiences through the Educational Technologies class. How did you view technology in English language teaching before you took this course?     Obviously, I am more experienced and knowledgeable about technology now. Generally, I have been using technology for doing my homework, researching, and working mostly. After I have started to take this class, my perspective on technology has changed. Firstly, I learned that there are many useful tools for learners, especially English learners. Secondly, I was able to improve my digital skills which I will use throughout my life. And finally, I improve myself in terms of group working. How this course has contributed to your learning about and understanding of technology integration in ELT?         As I said, the Internet is like a sea in which there are numerous resources for learning and te...

WebQuest and Farewell

Hi, today I've completed our final task which is QuestGarden. I am going to talk about it and say my last words.  Firstly, I want to talk about WebQuest. It is an interactive platform enabling teachers to create process-based materials for students. It includes phases such as Introduction-Task-Process and Evaluation. Our task was to prepare a WebQuest in which students will follow a guideline to learn and study. I worked with Selda Kaya, you can reach her website by clicking here. We firstly decided on a topic which was saving nature. We then brainstormed and reasoned about the process. Briefly, it was challenging at first but with my friend's help and a lot of give-and-take, we were able to do it. You can click the link below and reach my Webquest. CLICK HERE TO SEE MY WEBQUEST PAGE. As I said before, this is my last post and shortly I will talk about it in general.  1- What are the strengths and weaknesses of the course? One of the greatest contributions of this course to me...

Flipped Approach

Hello! Today, I will talk about Flipped Approach. Let's begin by defining a flipped classroom. Students learn at home and practice at school in a flipped classroom. The teacher makes a video for the targeted topic and distributes it to the pupils so that they can learn about it whenever they like! This method allows teachers to save a lot of time in class, allowing them to spend more time at school practicing the material rather than just teaching it. On the other side, this time savings benefit students rather than teachers. For beginners, making a flipped video may be difficult. Let us share our experiences! For the high school prep-class, our topic was "Comparative, Superlative, and Equality." We assumed it would be simpler. Despite some difficulties, it was enjoyable to be a part of this flipped video.  Let's talk about what we created with İrem First, we used Canva to build a presentation paper. Then, using Microsoft Video Editing, we record our voices to inser...
